Research Assistant Professor: Music and Computation Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ

The College of Arts and Letters at Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track appointment as a Research Assistant Professor of Music and Computation to conduct research on a federally funded grant, and to engage in additional research projects at the intersection of computing and music.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field and have a thorough knowledge of music theory and analysis.
Preferred candidates will have a strong programming and software engineering background, as well as experience with machine learning and/or knowledge engineering approaches to musical composition and interaction. The successful candidate will conduct research on musical communication, collaboration, and improvisation, and to build interactive musical performance systems that demonstrate musical communication.
