Classes for Women: Audio & Recording Technology

WAM provides training in the recording arts and audio technology in a world-class recording studio with award-winning women instructors. WAM creates an environment that encourages over 200 young women a year to become recording engineers, music producers and media makers and to enter a "non-traditional" field.

 

 

WAM Level 1 Certificate - Beginner

Consists of 8 sessions in WAM's studio and covers the following outline:

  1. Science of Sound
  2. Signal flow and the Recording Chain
  3. Microphones
  4. Digital Audio and recording with Digital Audio Workstations
  5. Basic Audio Connection and Soldering

Students are required to use WAM's training materials @ www.soundchannel.org

Next Session starts Fall 2013

 

WAM Level 2 Certificate - Intermediate

Consists of 7 sessions in WAM's studio and covers the following outline:

  1. Signal Processing
  2. Large Format Consoles
  3. Microphone Placement Techniques
  4. Studio Session

  • WAM Pro Tools Essentials
    2 Saturdays: June 1st and June 8th from 10 AM - 5:30 PM

    In this 2 day class, students will learn editing techniques, the methods of “comping” or creating composite tracks from multiple takes, basic mixing techniques using inserts and auxes, how to create sound FX and edit and place dialog for film and video and learn the crucial techniques required when using a Pro Tools HD system in a professional studio environment
