Summary:

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in the Department of Audio Engineering and Sound Production. The successful candidate will: teach undergraduate courses in Audio Engineering including foundational audio production courses for audio majors and non-majors, and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise; maintain an active program of research and creative activity in the field; participate in course design and curriculum development including online and hybrid courses; foster collaboration with other IU units such as The Media School and the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering; maintain involvement with appropriate professional organizations such as AES and NARAS; develop music industry professional connections that benefit the Audio Engineering Department and its students; supervise Audio Engineering students engaged in audio production for the Jacobs School’s performance activities; advise students, recruit students, and participate on departmental and Jacobs School committees.

Qualifications:

Expertise in sound for visual media and studio recording. Experience with live sound, studio maintenance, or VR/AR audio is desirable. Five or more years of current and significant experience and record of accomplishment in professional audio production. Expert-level Pro Tools proficiency and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience with teaching and curriculum development in a university environment. Bachelor’s degree in audio production or related field required. Advanced degree in audio production or related field preferred, however equivalent professional experience will be given equal consideration.
