Vietnamese master musician, Van Anh Vo, just finished tracking a project at WAM.

Van Anh Vo is the Vietnamese champion of the dan tranh, composed soundtracks for “Bolinao 52”, Academy Awards® nominee “Daughter from Danang" and performs with Kronos Quartet.  David Harrington of Kronos Quartet visited WAM during the Van-Anh Vo recording sessions, and we were extremely honored to have him here.  The sessions were accompanied by master taiko drummer Jimi Nakagawa and classically trained pianist, Frances Martin.
Van-Anh will be playing Carnegie Hall on Jan. 8th and at San Francisco Yerba Buena Center with Kronos Quartet on May 11th.
Thanks California Arts Council for supporting this project.
