Hey, future rock stars: Thinking of taking our Indie Artist 101 class next week? In this business, it's all about who you know, so get to know your fearless leader, Terri Winston. (She hates it when we name-drop, but we're in a bragging mood!)
Terri is a veteran recording artist who has been signed to major labels, including Phonogram/Polygram, Warner Chappell and New Millennia/BMG. She has played every major venue in San Francisco and toured the entire US, sharing the stage with the likes of PJ Harvey, Flaming Lips, the Pixies, Throwing Muses and Third Eye Blind.
She's been represented by attorneys who've worked with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Christina Aguilera, Jodie Foster and The Eagles, and managers who've represented David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed and John Cougar Mellencamp.
Terri's music awards include an ASCAP songwriting award, Boston Music Award and multiple Bay Area Music Awards, including Bammies and Wammies. She's worked in artist development, and as a producer/engineer for MainMan Records in the UK.
