EYH conferences nurture girls' interest in science and math courses to encourage them to consider careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Students will learn how to record instruments to a 4-track, get a little taste of live sound engineering, and recreate the dialogue and sound effects for a short video clip.

Girls on the Mic will be partnering with United for Success Academy from Oakland under their Citizen Schools Apprenticeship program. WAM will host 15 middle-school aged girls at our studio every Thursday for ten weeks to explore careers in sound engineering.
January 23 - February 20, 2013. Every Wed from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM
WAM will be holding Girls on the Mic workshops for middle school-aged girls (12-14 years old) at Thomas Edison Charter Academy every Wednesday afternoon for five weeks, concluding in a field trip to the WAM studio.
