Location Sound for Television

This is a great hands-on training opportunity with a professional sound mixer/boom op that has worked on shows for NBC, Lifetime, A&E, AMC, ESPN, and various commercials.This workshop will cover the basics of location sound such as:
 

  • What gear is typically used in production sound including must-have items and tools that help make you more efficient and professional.
  • What are your responsibilities doing sound on location?
  • Boom basics
  • How to place a wireless lav on talent (not always dealing with professional actors)
  • Problems shooting outside vs inside
  • Appropriate behavior on the set, your place on the crew
  • How to work with a camera person/setup audio on the camera; calibration
